Visitor Visa/TRV

What is Visitor Visa/Temporary Resident Visa(TRV)?

A Visitor Permit, also known as a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV), allows foreign nationals to visit Canada for tourism, business, or family visits. The purpose of this visa is for individuals who wish to travel to Canada for short-term stays, typically for tourism, visiting family or friends, or attending business meetings. Visitors can stay for up to six months at a time. The exact duration is determined by the border services officer upon entry.

*Exemptions: Some travelers may not need a visa, such as citizens from visa-exempt countries, who may only need an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) if arriving by air.

eTA

"Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) is a digital entry requirement for visa-exempt foreign nationals traveling to Canada by air. The eTA streamlines the entry process for eligible travelers and ensures a more efficient border control system."
